2018 NHL Stanley Cup Playoff Preview Round 3 -

Western Conference Finals -

Las Vegas Golden Knights Vs Winnipeg Jets

Nothing short of a great start for the 2 newest teams in the Western Conference.

Both teams came to play this season, having been pretty stellar all season long with very few hiccups.

The Jets are a hockey team, that didn't get a quick start like the Knights, but one thing they've been able to accomplish every season, is get a little bit better and a little bit better and so on... which consistency, is a lot more valuable of an asset in the long run.

The Jets just finished knocking off the President Trophy winning and previous Stanley Cup Finalist Nashville Predators and less than 2 days later, they send an intimidating opening blow to the Golden Knights, by taking game 1.

The scary thing is, the Jets entered that game and showed no sign of fatigue either, with Dustin Byfuglien scoring 65 seconds into the opening frame.

Mark Sheifele who leads playoff scoring with 11 goals in 12 games and linemate Blake Wheeler who leads the playoffs in assists, have created the most spectacular offensive line this post-season has to offer.

The Knights, however are no lay-up. They remind me of the Mighty Ducks, (the movies, not the team) a group of misfits, taking on their college varsity rivals, who are big, bad and bring versatility with every line they put on the ice.

Their leading scorer forward William Karlsson who went unprotected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the expansion draft, ends up scoring 16 more goals then the leading scorer on his former team. Placing him at 3rd in the league in goals scored, over the season and leading his new team to a Western Conference Final.

Their goalie, is a former feared talent and Stanley Cup Champion who was riding the pine in the city that once revered him. Now Fleury comes out red-hot in the playoffs. Posting the best post-season, even-strength save percentage in NHL history and leading the league in shut-outs.

If these unwanted, "wash-ups, with not much potential" can turn things around, like they've been able to do all season long. Their may be a new Disney movie in the making, based on a dominating hockey team from the desert!

This series is going to create a wonderful back and forth, their will be drama, speed, hits, and lots of scoring. What more could you love heading into the Stanley Cup Finals.
